With love to you on Christmas day

by:Me

It’s not hard to say I love you,

You’re there when times are hard,

When your around,

I have been touched by an angle.

Caring,

Kind,

Constantly on my mind,

I love you more than you could ever know.

Light of life,

There all the time,

Peaking in,

While I sleep.

Giver of love,

Cheers to you,

Loving all the things I do.

love you lots,

Although,

Sometimes it seems I don’t.

Merry Christmas,

Happy New Year!

Letter Of Appreciation

In Reading Workshop we had to do an assignment where we had to write a letter to a family member. I wrote to my grandma Melissa. She cried when she read it. I hope you like it.

Dear Melissa,

I am writing this to let you know how much I am grateful that I have you. Not everyone can say that they have a grandma that they can tell everything to.

I want to thank you for all that you have done for me and my sisters. Like the time when mom and dad weren’t getting along and you had us girls and mom stay at your place for the night. I think that was the best thing that had happened for a long time, not being around dad. I am so happy that you let us stay and you took us in when it got hard to be at home to hear all of the things that they were fighting about.

I am also thankful for all of the times you let us have us girls stay the night and also all of the birthday parties that we have had at your house. You always say, “You girls are like my daughters”. I always know that you mean it when you say that. Like the time we were at Tabitha’s party and we were camping out in a tint and you kept checking in on us. We asked why you kept coming in and you said we were your girls and you didn’t want anything to happen to us.

I am also grateful that you believe in second chances. Like the time Rachel, Tabitha and I went upstairs and we splatter painted all over the place and got paint all over Ed’s keyboard and all over the wood floor. I am glad you let us go and clean it up. Although it’s not done yet.

I am so grateful that I can say Melissa O’Neil is related to me. I hope it will be that way forever. I love you and have a happy Thanksgiving!

Love,

Sara

How I am Like Sam an How Im Not Like Sam

December 1, 2010 § Leave a comment

I am reading the book Watchers Lab 6. In this book the main character is Sam. Sam’s parents work for the government and he is getting suspicious about their work. Sam is beginning to think that his parents are  involved in a murder or maybe the complete opposite, maybe they are trying to create an artificial human with unbelievable intelligence.

Sam is like me in many ways, we both are always curious about things, we are both around the same age (13), also Sam and I are both very caring. Sam was caring when, Jamie was being mean and he still cut her some slack and let her calm down and Sam was curious when he started going through his parents files on the computer.

Sam and I are also different in many ways, Sam gets bullied, Sam is shy in some ways and we are also different because Sam is very clumsy. Sam is clumsy when he is walking into his parents office and he hits his head on a low bar, Sam gets bullied when Bart gets mad and then he slams him on the ground and punches him, and Sam is shy in some ways  because, sometimes when people ask him questions he gets embarrassed(like when his mom thought he and Jamie were at the house on a date and she asked him, ‘So is that your girlfriend?’ Sam got pink and didn’t answer).

I think I am more different than Sam than I am  like him. I think this because, Sam is a little more shy than me, Sam is not talkative , he doesn’t like to talk to his parents and he is a little too curious.

Manners Matter

December 1, 2010 § Leave a comment

In Reading Workshop we are doing an assignment on manners. The students of Reading Workshop are supposed to use the best manners that they can. Then we have to write about what we saw and what we think about students using manners. Here’s what I think.

I think that students using manners for an assignment will rub off and maybe stick with the students to the point that they will be using good manners even when it’s not an assignment. I think Mr. McGuire is doing all of us a favor with the manners assignment and I think more teachers should do this assignment.

I think that using manners has a good effect on kids. I think they have a good effect on students because it makes them more polite, and more respected by adults and all of the other people around them. I think manners have a good effect also because maybe they will rub off and stick with the kids forever.

I think that people who don’t use manners are disrespectful and a bad role model.  I think this because if you say something mean and don’t say sorry it makes  you look like the bad person. I think that when people don’t use manners they are being a bad role model for children and even hurting themselves by not using correct manners.

Manners are important because, a lot of times we judge people by the way we act and if people don’t use manners everyone will think that that person is a nasty person and they wont want anyone around them.  Manners matter and if you want to get any where in life you will have to learn how to use them.
